Part-time Cheesemonger & Tyromancer

Tyromancer will be Saddleworth’s only dedicated artisan cheesemonger. Opening in Spring 2026, we will bring exceptional artisan cheese and a small selection of fine food and drink to Uppermill High Street.

We are looking for a cheese enthusiast to join our team on a part-time basis. Someone who wants to immerse themselves in the world of cheese, and provide brilliant service to our customers.

This is a part-time role, initially for two or three days per week. Applicants must be willing to work at least one day on the weekend (i.e., Saturday or Sunday), and at least one day during the week (i.e., Monday to Friday). Applicants should be willing to try and recommend all the cheese we sell.

Responsibilities:

  • Create an inviting and friendly customer experience 

  • Offer enthusiastic and considered product recommendations

  • Cut and prepare cheese to the highest standard

  • Maintain an attractive retail environment

  • Assist with stock rotation and organisation

  • Maintain excellent shop hygiene and product quality standards

Applicants must have:

  • Genuine love of cheese and artisan food

  • Desire to provide brilliant customer service with a friendly, enthusiastic approach

  • Willingness to learn (and follow) strict hygiene procedures and quality standards

  • Availability to work weekends and busy seasonal periods

Applicants will preferably have:

  • Previous retail or food service experience 

  • Flexibility to work half days as part of a working week
